Summer Skin Secrets Series || Daily Night Time Skincare Regimen
Today we are on the final leg of S5 series, talking about quick night time skincare regimen.
Its that time of the day, when we finally come back home exhausted from work/studies/activities to get fresh, have a shower, get squeaky clean and slip into our comfort clothing to call it a night. It is such a relief. I know. That bliss. That lightness. That feeling of being home. #MutualFeeling
But remember one thing – regardless of being utterly exhausted, it is PIVOTAL to have a quick daily night time routine to give your skin the chance to breathe and repair itself over night for the next day.
Think of it as how you have to wash your hands every time before you eat food, to avoid the influx of bacteria and germs inside your body. Same way, your skin needs to be cleaned and thereafter nourished to avoid manifestation of germs/bacteria inside and out.
It’s better to be late than never… #JustSaying
Truth be told, night time skincare regimen is the best thing you can do for yourself in the long run. After years and years of trial and error, I’m now comfortable with my night time routine. I do jazz it up once in a while with luxurious oils and products. However, today I’m going to share with you the basic steps and products which you can use to get healthy glowing skin. I personally use this method and it’s always been successful thus far.
DAILY NIGHT TIME SKINCARE REGIMEN
- STEP 1 – CLEANSING
As mentioned in my previous post Holy Grail Skincare Products – Part 1, follow the cleansing process as recommended.
But in case of girls/women who apply makeup, it is a MUST to double cleanse. Now, what is double cleanse? It’s a two-step cleansing process in which,
1st: Use a cleansing oil/balm to melt your makeup from all the clogged pores. (Do not use water. Just rub the oil all over your makeup)
2nd: Wash your face with water.
3rd: Use a regular face wash/cleanser to get rid of the remaining residue of makeup.
Double cleanse is quite literally what it sounds like, cleansing your face twice. Oil removes oil and face wash removes the other remaining residue. Not to mention, this process removes the densest waterproof makeup without disturbing your skin. It’s your LIC policy for skin.
These 3 products are the best for double cleanse (No oil residue. No irritation) –
The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Makeup Remover Oil
The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter, Paraben-Free Makeup Remover
CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
**In case if your budget is limited, try using virgin coconut oil for double cleanse. I do not mean Parachute Coconut Hair Oil.
Note: You only need the tiniest of amount. Literally pea sized quantity.
**If you still feel that there is some trace of makeup left, then try using
Garnier Skin Naturals – Micellar Cleansing Bi-Phase Water. Shake it. Dab it on a cotton pad. Swipe the pad all over your face. Ta-da!
- STEP 2 – TONING
As mentioned in my previous post Holy Grail Skincare Products – Part 1, follow the toning process as recommended.
- STEP 3 – MOISTURIZING
Well, it’s generally recommended that we include all are serums, sleeping masks and facial oils in this step. But because I want to keep it simple for you’ll, I’ll only include easy steps which are a must and do the most for you.
1st: Sleeping Face Mask
Unlike regular face mask, sleeping face mask are more of a creamy texture which get absorbed in your skin and is to be left overnight. More like a moisturizer on steroids. Makes your skin plump, nourished and glowing within 8hrs of sleep. I would highly recommend,
The Body Shop Drops of Youth™ Bouncy Sleeping Mask.
2nd: Face oil
Face oil is the last step of skincare, which simply seals the deal. It provides that extra oomph to the skincare regimen. Filled with anti-oxidants and nutrients. I would highly recommend,
Bio oil.
OR Pure Cow Ghee.
This routine can be adjusted according to preference from person to person. Apply all over the face, neck and ears.
- STEP 4 – FACIAL MASSAGE
Our bare hands are the best tool for facial massage. Using our fingers and knuckles massage in anti-gravity direction, from center to outwards of the face. Massage upwards on the neck towards the chin and let the products sink in the skin.
#ProTip Following the cleansing step, you can also throw in a face mask to rejuvenate your skin.
That’s it. That’s all you got to do. Good night!
This entire regimen will stimulate your skin and give it the care it needs. I’ve developed this list after years of testing and studying my own skin and others.
The S4 series has come to an end now. Do have a quick glance through Ayurveda, Quick Home Remedies and Holy Grail Skincare Products. Give them a try and let me know what you think. Perhaps, care to share some of your own experiences? I’d love to know.
